Pent-Up Demand and Confidence Drive Property Sales in Third Quarter of 2020



The second half of 2020 is starting to look very encouraging for some property developers namely UEM Sunrise and Exsim Group.


According to a local business daily, The Edge; UEM Sunrise has achieved over RM400 million in sales and bookings within two months, mainly driven by the good market response for its projects in Klang Valley, Bangi and Johor Bahru.


In a media statement released to the local Media in Malaysia on 18 September, its managing director and chief executive officer Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib said that the company is determined to pivot their strategies to continue building the awareness and interest in the products and the UEM Sunrise brand during the MCO (movement control order) and Conditional MCO period.


UEM Sunrise is not the only developer experiencing brisk sales. Exsim Group also cashed in on the pent-up demand.


The Rosewoodz

Year 2020 has turned out to be a rosy year for The Rosewoodz. Exsim Group launched The Rosewoodz in July and by mid-September, the low density freehold residential development located in Bukit Jalil is 98% sold.


Buyers are attracted to the development’s strategic location between two LRT stations and proximity to Overseas Union Garden (OUG), a matured well-known neighbourhood in Kuala Lumpur.


Bukit Jalil

Exsim Group’s brand name in Bukit Jalil has been well established since its first property development there in 2009; The Treez @ Bukit Jalil. The price tag for The Treez in 2009 was RM400 per square feet. Currently, The Treez is transacting at RM800 per square foot in the subsale market.


Bukit Jalil today is linked to other parts of the Klang Valley via key highways in the Klang Valley, namely the Damansara-Puchong Expressway and the Puchong-Sungai Besi Highway. It is also accessible via the Shah Alam Expressway, Maju Expressway, and the New Pantai Expressway.


The maturing suburb is also served by a light rail transit (LRT) line, with two stations — Bukit Jalil LRT station and Sri Petaling LRT station.


More Launches Ahead

Rumour has it that Exsim Group will be launching another residential development in Bukit Jalil next year. Aside from Bukit Jalil, Exsim Group has recently ventured into another well-known neighbourhood in Kuala Lumpur – Mont Kiara. Find out more about this Mont Kiara development here.


Incidentally, UEM Sunrise or Sunrise (as it was previously known before the merger), developed Mont Kiara to what it is today – an upmarket international neighbourhood just 15 minutes away from KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Centre).
